"Brokeback Mountain" won three of the eight categories for which it was nominated at Sunday nights Academy Awards.
1. Gustavo Santaolalla won the Oscar for “Achievement In Music Written For Motion Pictures (Original Score)”.
2. Larry McMurtry, Diana Ossana won the Oscar for "Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material Previously Produced or Published (Adapted Screenplay)".
3. Ang Lee, won the Oscar for "Best Achievement in Directing (Best Director)".
